MARITAL MILESTONES #27 1960

FC: What is it that’s crushing my father? It’s the book he has been commissioned to write, Pastel Painting, Modern Techniques. To really appreciate this drawing you have to take in mind that in 1960, the year my father was working on the book, he was 63 years old and there weren’t computers to help with the work. He didn’t have a scanner or digital camera, so he sketched each piece of art that was to be included in the book. It’s really quite amazing the detail he put into those little pencil thumbnail sketches.
