MARITAL MILESTONES #1 1935

After our marriage in Hungary, our first bedroom set contained twin beds. When we came to America, our small rooms would not accommodate twin beds, so we bought a full size bed. Stephen, being heavier, I usually found myself over on his side. He’d wake up and ask me to move over so “my bony knees would not be pressing his kidneys.” I would move over to my side – muttering that one day he’d be sorry because I wouldn’t even get close to him! After a few months of this, we gradually made our own indentations in the mattress and thereafter peace reigned!

On March 18th, 1934, Stephen Csoka married Margaret Muller in Budapest, Hungary. March 18th, 1935, Stephen presented Margaret with the first Marital Milestone painting, an image that highlighted the big event of their first year of marriage.
