MARITAL MILESTONES #7 1941

We shared an apartment with my parents for seven years and at that point one of their friends had a lower apartment for rent in a two family home. This apartment included the use of a little garden which we felt would be good for Clare. It was only four blocks from our former apartment. We were there for a few months when the owners decided to sell the house. Faced with having to move we made the decision to buy the house. By scraping together whatever money we had we were able to make the down-payment and 349 Evergreen Avenue, Brooklyn, became our home for 23 years. When our tenants moved out, my parents moved in and it was a very pleasant arrangement.
