MARITAL MILESTONES #31 1965

Parsons had a compulsory retirement at 65, which they had not pursued in Stephen’s case because he was the first to reach that age. In 1965, four people had to retire so Stephen had to go too. (Even the fact that he still had all his teeth didn’t help!)

How fortunate that the welcoming hands of the Fashion Institute of Technology were ready to break his fall. It was to become the best position he ever held and he retired from there at the age of 82!

Frank enlisted in the National Guard and served only 6 months on active duty, but there followed 6 years of summer tours plus weekly meetings. That too eventually passed and it ws good training in order and discipline.
